Located on the west side of Houston, Westchase offers a thriving business, residential, and retail community. Due to the area's planned development, neighborhoods coexist near retail centers, business parks, and churches, making Westchase a convenient place to live and work. Business such as BMC Software, Hallburton, Chevron, and Dow Chemical have offices in Westchase. Many of the major intersections in Westchase feature beautiful landscaping that takes advantage of Houston's warm climate.Houston residents are known for their love of restaurants, and like the rest of the city, Westchase features many different types of cuisine. Over a hundred different restaurants offer food such as Thai, Mexican, Japanese, Spanish, French, and Persian.For outdoor fun, visit the Quillian Recreation Center. The center features softball fields, soccer fields, a fitness trail, a swimming pool, and an indoor gym. In addition, the Westchase Hike & Bike Trail is under development, creating a twelve-foot wide multi-use trail available for recreation and travel.Quillian Recreation Center also hosts Wonderland in Westchase, an annual holiday celebration with entertainment and events for the whole family, with local schools providing music. For kids in Houston, snow is a rare event, but this celebration provides two different areas where children can play in the snow and slide down a snow-covered hill.
