Since 1986, Naomitsu Yoshida has been striving to bring the most authentic Japanese food to the people of Houston. "Nippon" is the traditional Japanese word for Japan. Born in 1948 in Hokkaido, Japan, Mr. Yoshida journeyed throughout Japan studying its various regional dishes, since he dreamed of sharing the wonders of Japanese cuisine with the rest of the world. He then traveled all over the world trying to find the most suitable location to open his restaurant. In 1986, Mr. Yoshida established Nippon Restaurant in Houston, Texas, and since then he has raised the standard of Japanese cuisine in the Bayou City. For the past 30 years, the Yoshida Family has been dedicated to providing Houstonians with the most authentic & delicious Japanese cuisine.
